Dan and The Fam is a power major freq funk force of Virginia based musicians fronted by indie-electronic loop artist Danny Jams. Performing both originals & improvised jams, The Fam serves up a mix of knee-buckling space funk with dance inducing energy. Known for their improvised shenanigans with special guest appearances from other local talent, Dan and The Fam has created a unique live show experience refreshing for all music lovers.
Forming in the summer of 2021 with Danny Jams (Daniel DeMarais) on Guitar/Vox, Zeus (Alexander Lafreniere) on drums, & Gradyliciouss (Grady Tollison) on Bass, the trio quickly caught the attention of the jam scene in RVA. Since then, the Fam has flourished in the art of live performance. They have grown their production with routine releases of live audio on major streaming platforms as well as video recordings from festivals & shows. Making it a point to keep fans interested, Dan & The Fam have started to hone in on writing new material & content. With plans to record as well as dabble in some live streaming, The Fam continues to explore new avenues to connect with their audience beyond the show.
Their most recent official video release “Stratus” featuring Dustin Goddard on keys showcases the band’s ability to turn any show into an improv driven spectacle. The Fam’s high energy showmanship coupled with an emphasis on external artist collaborations is exactly why they thrive in a festival setting.
